Who was Ivy?

From sexual assault and trauma, to sex trafficking and addiction, to pregnancy, and ultimately finding a way back to myself. We are more than just our trauma and together, we can stand strong.

Our Leadership


  • Founder/CEO

    Dr. Beth loves expressive arts therapies- yoga, baking, bibliotherapy, you name it. She believes in bottom up processing/somatic interventions for trauma healing. Diagnostic evaluations for survivors with collaborative treatment plans also available.


  • CFO

    Over the course of her career, she has served in many capacities and leadership roles including IT/Data Processing Director, Controllerships and appointments to Chief Financial/Chief Operating Officer which includes serving in several nonprofit organizations and the State Nonprofit Association along with numerous companies in the private sector. In 2015, she began Wright Business Services Inc. developing a more personalized business model where her clients consider her their “CFO to Go”, their missions are her mission. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

    She also serves as Board Treasurer for the Life Bridge Health/Carroll Hospital Auxiliary and the GFWC Women’s Club of Carroll County which also includes serving on various committees such as fundraising and fund development.


  • DC Regional Program Director

    Kyla Woods received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of the District of Columbia. She has worked as a survivor-advocate in youth-led policy efforts within the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), DC Interagency Council on Homelessness, and the Juvenile Justice Advisory Group and believes strongly in capacity-building within low-income and marginalized communities. Her intervention areas focus on life coaching, yoga as an intervention, workforce and leadership development, and empowerment in arts and media.


  • MD Regional Program Director

    Liz is all about the arts, preventative and intervention education, and most importantly, creating and nurturing community spaces for survivors to come together, to heal together. She specializes in expressive arts based education and substance abuse recovery. She is a life coach and yoga teacher with a focus on accessibility and healing.

  • Contract Program Specialist

    Jewell Copeland began her over 5 year journey in anti-trafficking in Los Angeles as a child welfare social worker in a specialized unit for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC). She served as an intensive case manager at MISSSEY in Oakland, CA and a resource specialist on the Child Sex Trafficking – Recovery Services Team at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Jewell now continues her journey in this work as an anti trafficking program supervisor at a child advocacy center and a Regional Navigator for Baltimore City.

Our Staff

  • Research and IT Systems Analyst

    Tara uses her background in technology, her training in data science, and her history surviving CSEC and DMST to identify and analyze pertinent datasets. Her goal is to better understand the current operating environment and to identify areas of potential disruption to the human trafficking industry.

  • Contract Program Specialist

    Mylan Barnes is a passionate emerging leader in the District of Columbia and a proud native Washingtonian. Mylan is also a student at the University of the District of Columbia, working towards her goals of becoming a social worker. Mylan is also an advocate for her community, focused on using her voice to heal from her past struggles, sharing her lived experiences to advocate for change, and uplifting the voices, needs, and hopes of the community and young people she serves. She is a guiding light for her community and seeks to break generational curses one step at a time.

  • Contract Program Specialist

    Tanisha Murden loves mentoring youth and working in spaces to prevent harm in her community. She received her official Transformative Life Coaches and Healing Leader Certification in 2022. She is a human trafficking and DV survivor. Tanisha's mission is to be a global leader in breaking the cycle of generational behavior and generational curses by identifying and addressing the root cause of unhealed trauma in her community.

Our Interns and Students

  • HHS Intern

    Sarah is a lived experience expert studying Health and Human Services at the University of South Carolina. She is an anti-trafficking advocate and career goals include providing support to other survivors through executive coaching.

  • MSW Intern

    University of Maryland

    Lauren is a current social work student at the University of Maryland Baltimore. She is a DMV native and has worked in education, organizing, and human services locally and in the Dominican Republic. She is passionate about movement, art, and collective practices for healing, and strength-based approaches that honor the spirit. In her free time, she loves to be outside.

  • UMD MSW Intern

    Mona is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She has previously worked as an environmental social justice advocate, an AmeriCorp volunteer, and a behavioral therapist. She is deeply committed to fostering anti-oppressive, healing environments and serving as a resource for individuals on their journey to self-empowerment. During her free time, she likes to crochet and read!

  • UMD MSW Intern

    Desmyn is a student in the Master of Social Work Program at the University of Maryland. She works as a yoga instructor across different locations in Baltimore with experience in teaching trauma-informed, yin, and vinyasa styles of yoga. She has experience in health and wellness, interpersonal violence prevention, emergency medical services, and childcare. Her interests align with making mindfulness and somatic practices more accessible for marginalized communities. In her free time, she loves to bake, cook, be outside, and hang out with her rescue pup!
